Son of artists – mother a painter and father a photographer – he began his musical career as a singer and guitarist in the band Brighton’ 64 with which he performed in different venues in Barcelona (Magic, Kharma, Boira) and Madrid (Rock-Ola) and in the Musical Express program on TVE-2. Some time later he created his new pop-rock band, El Clan-Destino, with which he recorded a mini-LP at the Doubletronics studios in Madrid, an album that was never released.
In 1987, together with Pablo Jiménez (bass and vocals), he created the duo El Instante with which he released his first miniLP, “Del susurro al gloria” which was released by the Justine label in 1988. During those years he combined music with his studies in Geography and History at the University of Barcelona, obtaining his degree in 1989. That same year he began his music studies at the Taller de Músics of Barcelona, where he studied piano with Lluís Esquadra and Antoni-Olaf Sabater.
